Today I am updating my blog for the first time in a couple of weeks. The world is crazy strange. We have been homebound and hunkered down for a month now and people are starting to go stir crazy. Back in March (9th - 13th) we had spring break and in the midst of it, the virus started to grow into a real threat, and school never started back up. So I have really not worked much since March 9th except for some writing and reading and grading and lesson writing. Oh, and the sewing project. Today I got the idea to research the sewing project so we shall see if I do that...
Heading to my mom's again for supper tonight. I went to the doctor yesterday to have my neck scoped- it hurt so much to have that thing put down my throat. No problems apparent but the doc thinks reflux is irritating my wind pipe. Six weeks of a medicine will likely help. Weaning off Cymbalta slowly, I think, will also help. It is known to cause reflux. So my mental state is one of A) dealing with my throat feeling choked all the time, B) face pain, C) feelings of worry about not working as much as I should, D) worry about the world and all the folks suffering right now, an E) worrying about my kids who are far away. I'm grateful that Aza is here. That I have a job that pays. That I can do what I want. That I have a fulfilling project to engage in. That the weather is so nice. That I have food.
I have not had my hands in clay in several weeks. This weekend I want to balance my time between clay and sewing and writing an IRB to conduct a study on the impact of sewing face masks on the affect of diverse sewists engaged in social activism. How does that sound?
