A day thinking about life and death. A day punctuated by small joys. The smile on my grandmother's face when I told her I loved her. When she said she was waiting for her husband to pick her up. When she winked at me.
3-19-15
I knitted Grandma some little socks because she has sores on her ankles and heels but her feet were cold. I made cookies. I made chicken soup, and she had some from a spoon. This is not easy. I had nightmares last night.
3-18-15
We arrived after an 8 hour drive at my grandmother's house. She is preparing to depart from this world. It is sad and surreal and makes me feel deep things.
On the way here I found out I was awarded a grant I had applied for. I was elated!
