We did not sleep well last night camping in the car in the rain. It was hard to get up this morning but we did. We hiked up Box Canon to this cool waterfall. Dan did more hiking on the perimeter trail while I waited for him in the car.

We hiked up to Chimney Rock and I got heat exhaustion or something and barely made it down. Then we went and found a camping spot near Ourey, Colorado.

JES and JEF met up with us in Pagosa Springs. We went to the Springs this morning and went on a hike this afternoon.

This is the tiny house we rented for a couple days. It's on a noisy road so that was a bummer but we got amazing pizza for dinner and sat outside eating it. We hiked around a lake today. Three miles.

Today I rested a bit because of the ankle. We stayed up late looking at the stars, trying to find the comet. The sky was so beautiful. I woke up all through the night looking at the stars.

This camp site is the best. It's in the Collegiate Peaks region. Green and cool with the distant sound of a waterfall. We hiked up a mountain today and I twisted my ankle a bit.

We slept well last night and drove today to Flourissant where there is a fossil bed and fossilized redwood stumps. The air is dry and cool. We hiked for a couple miles and then went to 11 Mile State Park for lunch and fishing.

We made it to the mountains in Colorado but it's hot!!! And the traffic getting up higher is solid packed. I'm not sure we will have luck finding a campsite tonight. Will post an update if I can.

Today is my Nana's birthday- she was born 112 years ago and I still miss her. We are in Kansas with the Js on our way to Colorado. We stayed in Hays, Kansas last night in a cute AirBnB house.

I got up at 7am this morning to go on a sunrise kayak trip across the lake with Dan and J's dad. I'm alone because I turned around to go back to the house after getting really nauseous from the new antibiotic I'm taking.
