It's been a long time, and I miss this blog. I think it helps ground me in time and space to create a story I can look back on and see where I am. I skipped much of 2023-- the year we went to Israel, the year I became Jewish, the year I started the program at school that took every ounce of my energy. 

So, starting fresh with 2024. 

Aza had little baby Ozzi last month. Jes came to visit with little Roo and big sister Rose is just loving being a big sister. It is so much fun to see the twin cousins play together. You can see the green blanket I knit for Ozzi.

I cooked quite a meal today. Fried chicken, hoppin John, and a pear dessert.

Goodbye 2022. Today I cleaned a bathroom, glazed pottery, got a new bedspread, and started my black eyed peas soaking.

We left around 10am and got home just before midnight. Long day. Got home and had to sweep and clean!

Today was a simple day. Dan and I went to a pottery supply store to check out their glaze chemicals and I ended up ordering what I needed from an online source instead. I went for a walk. Watched a lot of episodes of a show that convinced me I need to exercise. Cooked dinner with the girls. Played with the babies. Tomorrow is our last day in Wisconsin. It will be really hard to say goodbye to the babies.

Dinner at the President’s house. So fancy! Lots of wealthy people/ donors there. Got two gifts on the way out- a Nest candle and a French kitchen towel.

Babkas. I saw an ad on Facebook for Goldbelly babkas and decided that I just had to make them. So fun to make! So yummy.

We left at 7am for the drive to Wisconsin. 14.25 hours later we arrived. The drive through Chicago was the hardest part. I sat in front the whole time. Dan drove most of the way while Squirt worked in the back seat and Panda drove for a few hours. I knitted and wrote letters as it got colder and colder and colder.

I got little J dressed today in his checkered shirt and overalls. He scooted himself under the Christmas tree to play with the ornaments.

This is my little bear grandbaby. She’s got chickenpox and has to stay quarantined in the basement. So we spend some time downstairs and some time upstairs with the boys.
