We went to dinner this evening at the home of our Senegalese son and his family. There I met a man who studied under my late friend, Bob. He had wonderful things to say about him, saying he was "the best economics professor in the whole world."

The swamp has been drained, and is getting a house. I'm getting ready for the new semester-- lots to teach and do.

I had invited everyone over for dinner, but ended up with a bladder flare so bad that I cancelled. Instead, we met for a picnic on campus, and I brought my oatmeal.

We arrived in Chautauqua, New York today-- Jes's birthday. We are staying in this house for the week with the Js and my MIL. Dan and I took two days to get here, stopping off at a few national park places.

I've been drawing each night in a notebook. This helps because I had to get off my meds to do a sleep study.
