I voted today, even though my vote really didn't count. Alabama passed 10 amendments to the state constitution and voted down one---the quest to remove racist language from a law. That's telling.

Mom, I saw some news on that law and it was pushed heavily by conservatives. They had a hidden agenda though! Repealing that law would make another outdated law go into effect - one that could actually affect how minorities are treated in the education system. So it's actually good that didn't get repealed!
