 Another PhD student of mine defended his dissertation. That makes four! He did a wonderful job and I was so proud. There are three left.... and I wonder if all three will finish. I'm sure two will. Doc students are like children in the family tree of PhDs. I descend from Theodosius Dobzhansky, the evolutionary biologist.

 I'm at a conference in Knoxville, TN and we are staying at a really cool hotel, The Collegiate. I'm here with a grad student and we met up with a former student who is also getting her PhD.

This was my evening... teaching and working on the mural we are creating...

This was my morning and my day-- in the ER with my mom who suffered a TIA. She is fine now... fully recovered, but it was a wake up call to slow down and take care of herself better.

This day I drove out to a school in a neighboring county. This teacher had the most awesome looking room ever. A beautiful painted classroom with stenciled quotes, biological specimens, scientific equipment, projects on the counters... just delightful.

Tuesday night class. My students were investigating my curriculum and trying to build a generator. This group created the best one.
