I finished the bag I knitted today and started felting it in my mom's industrial mixer. My grandmother died today. I started knitting this bag while visiting her. Now it serves as a tangible memory.
God bless Grandma.

This is the patio at the hotel we are at. I love the furniture and the big umbrellas. We are at the Brice, a really awesome place.

I planted about 40 bulbs in this area in the backyard today. Did a little yard work and some shopping at Walmart and the yarn store.

Frisbee got a new memory foam bed and it's taking some getting used to. Our landscape designer came out today to see about some new plants and we saw this mushroom in the garden. It's a basket stinkhorn.

Dinner at Live Oaks was pretty good. Hamburger with lots of stuff on top and really good fries. We were celebrating the Texas order tonight.
My Gingko is doing well!

A day thinking about life and death. A day punctuated by small joys. The smile on my grandmother's face when I told her I loved her. When she said she was waiting for her husband to pick her up. When she winked at me.

I knitted Grandma some little socks because she has sores on her ankles and heels but her feet were cold. I made cookies. I made chicken soup, and she had some from a spoon. This is not easy. I had nightmares last night.

We arrived after an 8 hour drive at my grandmother's house. She is preparing to depart from this world. It is sad and surreal and makes me feel deep things.
On the way here I found out I was awarded a grant I had applied for. I was elated!

No sleep for many nights. Migraine so bad my student Kat comes over to bring me flowers and bananas and yogurt.
