It took me the longest time go get these steins made because of size problems, and pandemic problems. But here they are!

Teensie below.

5-16-20

I made this quilt block from scraps from mask making. Each sample of fabric reminds me of masks I've made.

My latest obsession.

5-8-20

I got a new iPhone and it has a really good camera on it.
Today's walk included some photos.

5-7-20

This is one I made from a doodle I drew during a boring meeting.... It doesn't have as much personality as the doodle pitcher.

5-5-20

I'm back making pots now that Aza is gone and we are not parked at the kitchen table most of the day sewing masks...

5-4-20

I forgot to mention-- Jes is Engaged!

5-2-20

Aza and Supbra left today and it was quite sad. Dan and I drove out to a park in town to see their gazebo to see if it would be a good alternate ceremony spot. It was lovely!

5-1-20

Last supper with Aza and her beau. Mom went all out with a delicious dinner. They checked out areas in the back yard for a wedding!

4-28-20

We have dinner most nights of the week with my mom and Teensie, who is living there while Zara and Arya are visiting. This is SupBra with Teensie.

Mom made a peanut butter and chocolate pie. omygoodness.

4-27-20

I found some time away from sewing to make some mugs.

4-23-20

I made cinnamon rolls this morning because SupBra hinted that he would like them. Oh my, they were SO good.
Just look at these friends... these cat cousins!

4-20-20

Arya and Grayson are buddies. They have similar personalities, and enjoy chasing each other and snoozing on the couch together.

4-17-20

We sew. A lot. Two machines set up on the kitchen table, we sit across from each other, chatting, sewing, zoning out, just being.

Today I am updating my blog for the first time in a couple of weeks. The world is crazy strange. We have been homebound and hunkered down for a month now and people are starting to go stir crazy. Back in March (9th - 13th) we had spring break and in the midst of it, the virus started to grow into a real threat, and school never started back up. So I have really not worked much since March 9th except for some writing and reading and grading and lesson writing. Oh, and the sewing project. Today I got the idea to research the sewing project so we shall see if I do that...
Heading to my mom's again for supper tonight. I went to the doctor yesterday to have my neck scoped- it hurt so much to have that thing put down my throat. No problems apparent but the doc thinks reflux is irritating my wind pipe. Six weeks of a medicine will likely help. Weaning off Cymbalta slowly, I think, will also help. It is known to cause reflux. So my mental state is one of A) dealing with my throat feeling choked all the time, B) face pain, C) feelings of worry about not working as much as I should,  D) worry about the world and all the folks suffering right now, an E) worrying about my kids who are far away. I'm grateful that Aza is here. That I have a job that pays. That I can do what I want. That I have a fulfilling project to engage in. That the weather is so nice. That I have food.
I have not had my hands in clay in several weeks. This weekend I want to balance my time between clay and sewing and writing an IRB to conduct a study on the impact of sewing face masks on the affect of diverse sewists engaged in social activism. How does that sound?

4-15-20

We got lots of thread.

I cut Sup-Bra's hair.
Sweet Aza sewing....
