Lots going on!
Squirt and Jes came home.
Squirt is helping me build 10 3D printers.
Jes is helping with wedding details, like painting this sign!

Does it look like them?
They get married in a week!

Some goodies from the kiln today:
A vase for a new friend in Chicago

A porcelain vase for my sister Sta

Little kitties for the wedding!

A mug glazed with green over black to make blue...

And the best mug I've ever made!

This is Rusty, born under mom mom's house in March. He was wild and scared and today he decided to play with me- I made a toy with a stick and a ribbon... and gave him a scratch behind the ears- and he decided people were pretty useful!

9-18-20

I made another shirt from fabric scraps. This one I have actually worn in public.

9-13-2020

I hand sewed a shirt from scraps of Alabama Chanin organic cotton.
It was like putting a puzzle together without a guide. I may never wear this shirt in public, but it was still fun!

I'm Chrissy and I'm 57 today.
And I think I have fangs.

9-10-2020

Last day of being 56... I'm carving leaves into this mug. This mug will turn out to be the best mug I'd ever made.

Teensie doesn't watch me do pottery from this vantage much any more, but she did today!

9-8-2020

This is another glaze technique. Not crazy about this on either...

9-6-2020

This is how I glazed the leaf bowl and mug. I'm not crazy about it and plan to try some other glazes...

Today I was uploading old photos to Ancestry.com and so I uploaded these two... my Nana and Papa.
David Davis (1908-1988) and Christine Evelyn Guy (1908-1987)

The university took this down soon after it was posted. Look at these weekly statistics... at the start of the semester. Thankfully, I'm teaching online. Three classes.

I thought I'd post this image since it symbolizes this semester during Covid times.
We are supposed to take a health quiz daily and get a green screen in order to do anything on campus.
It's clumsy to use, and I typically do not do it even though we are supposed to.

I'm working on a new style for my pottery- carved leaves. The problem is that it looks so good raw, I don't know how to glaze these!

8-22-2020

My mask making skills have come in handy with wedding planning in the works!

8-21-20

Dan is hanging lights outside for the wedding celebration.

A fun thing about being a member of Ancestry.com is that they release new data all the time. This photo is from a yearbook on Mathew's Island when my mom was in 8th grade. I recognized her right away.

8-16-20

Making masks for Aza's wedding.

8-14-20

We got some photos back from the wedding. I love this one!

8-13-20

I got an allergy test today. I'm allergic to roaches, pecan trees, some grasses, and several molds. No wonder!

8-12-20

I glazed the remaining white vases for Aza's wedding.

8-10-20

I picked up my plates from the studio in Opelika!

8-9-20

Dinner at my mom's house. Chicken and peaches...

8-8-20

Home! And Grayson remembers me!

8-7-20

I need knitting when we are driving... that or sewing. On this trip I'm knitting a round scarf from this lovely alpaca wool.

8-6-20

Driving home.
Eastern Colorado.

8-5-20

We went for a hike and a drive today. The drive was to a small town nearby, and the hike was up a mountain to a lake.

I really like the bright green lichen growing on the rocks.

8-4-20

We drove into Leadville for pizza tonight, and called Squirt.

8-3-20

We left Denver and found a camping site west of town. We set up camp for three nights here.

I painted on a table in the shade tent.

We had a fire each night and needed marshmallows very badly!!

8-2-20

We went to the Cherry Creek Reservoir where Jes and Jef met and got engaged to each other, and the men did some paddle boarding while we sat on the beach.
