I can' t let too much time go by without seeing my grandson. We are on our way to Colorado.

Still making pots- lots of mugs these days. I gave away about 12 of them on our recent trip to Virginia and want to replenish!

4-26-21

Indigo. I made an indigo vat and dyed some fabric with it. It smells funny.

4-23-21

Back home, fancy dinners with my mom are starting up inside again.

4-18-21

Our last day in Richmond, I had to meet up with my lifelong friend LA. We are both grandmothers now. A lifetime of knowing each other....

4-17-21

Oh how I miss this little guy, and love FaceTiming with him.

4-15-21

We drove to Charlottesville today to meet up with my old best friends there, M and K. We spent the afternoon at M's house and then drove into C'ville for Bodo's Bagels. We parked right near the school where I used to teach, which was wierd.

4-14-21

This is my cousin. I found him on 23&Me and we started chatting via email, and then Zoom.. and today we met for dinner in Richmond! He and his wife live in Virginia Beach but they drove to Richmond to meet us. Very cool.

4-12-21

After Hilton Head, we drove up to the Outer Banks in NC and met up with Aza and Supbra!

4-10-21

Panorama of the beach at Hilton Head.

4-11-21

Dan and I are on a trip. First we stopped in Hilton Head to visit with his sister and her family. They rented a house. I brought my accreditation work with me and set up shop in the kitchen table to work on it. We also enjoyed the beach!

Another craft I'm working on is weaving. I'm not sure what the science will be.... but here is a piece I made today.

4-2-21

Today I had some kids over to make paper with me. We did it out back and the paper turned out really well. We used kozo and lavender flowers and some recycled pulp.

4-1-21

So, I love making things, especially things from scraps. It feels good to bring new life to something that would ordinarily be thrown away. I ordered several pounds of fabric scraps from Alabama Chanin. They sell all their scraps. I'm making a blanket from them in this hexagon pattern.

3-30-21

I love making things for Baby J. This is a rattle I made him and will mail him.

3-28-21

Seder dinner table all set... ready to Zoom into my first Seder dinner. I made all the foods on the seder plate, plus roasted a brisket and even made matzo ball soup!

3-25-21

I'm making paper from this mulberry bark called kozo. Paper above, bark below.

3-23-21

Floam.

When I was getting my PhD I had some of this to fuss with, and when I was shopping at Hobby Lobby I saw it on the shelves so bought it.

3-20-21

We went for a trip to see our niece Em who is studying medicine a couple hours south of here. We got a tour of her school and her apartment and downtown, and went out to lunch.

3-14-21

Hey Papa!

3-12-21

Four generations of firstborns.

3-11-21

I'm so happy having my baby grandson visit.

3-9-21

LOOK WHO IS VISITING!!!?!?!?!?

3-1-21

My student Chee's mother made me this dress. Amazing.

2-10-21

I got an old Mini DV camera off Facebook and bought a converter and am converting old family movies into YouTube videos. Great fun!

2-7-21

I made this teapot for my Hebrew Teacher. It says "family" in Hebrew on it.

1-30-21

When we were in Denver waiting on baby J's birth, I made little figures while sitting on the big chair and watching TV every night. Here they are fired...

1-23-21

This is an experiment. I painted obsidian on first, and then other colors.

1-15-21

When baby J was born, I smooshed his feet into some clay and brought it home. Here it is, fired, with a cobalt wash rubbed into it.

1-7-21

My kiln needs new elements. See how they are touching?

I stopped blogging on December 31st, 2020 and just now, in July, realize how much I  miss it- so I'm going to try and catch up. This was a loaf of Challah bread that I made. I can tell from photos at this time that I was doing work on my Jewish genealogy and wanted to try to make Challah for Friday night.
