Dan has been making stained glass for one year now.

We went to an open-house today. This house was not impressive, and it was small, but it had three out-buildings on its 5 acre plot plus a 3-car garage. It would be nice to have an actual art studio and an actual wood workshop for Dan. Plus, it had a pool. But it was $750,000 and not in a great location.
We went to mom's for dinner tonight. She cooked!

9-11-21

Today is my 58th birthday.
Dan and I went to the game and out to dinner. I had a peaceful day. I like being busy, with things planned throughout the day, with down time inbetween each thing.

9-9-21

I'm helping Kel with her Instagram account today.

9-7-21

Back at work. What a mess. I got a headshot today for an award ceremony coming up.

9-6-21

My student Cheese brought me some coffee from Senegal and we had a cup of it.

9-5-21

My mom is driving again. She had a small stroke a few weeks ago and was not allowed to drive, but today she took the car for a spin and did fine.

9-4-21

I harvested my sunflower today and picked out the seeds.
Next year I'll have a crop of these!

9-3-21

Our fridge broke in a lightning storm, and so we got a new compressor installed. It makes a high pitched noise. Here are some recordings of it--- see the spike at around 3000 Hz? I think that's what I'm hearing. It drives me crazy and I'm hoping that next week a new one is installed that does not make this noise. I can hear it all over the house and can't stand to be in the kitchen anymore. I downloaded some apps to my phone so I could analyze the noise.

9-2-21

FaceTime with Baby J today.... he headed for the bathroom to knock down the shampoo, lift the toilet seat, and play with the step to the trashcan. This boy!

We had over 50 people at the weaving workshop today. It was a great success!
I brought the clay objects from the first workshop to give back to folks.

8-27-21

Panda drew these little creatures for her class so i turned them into stamps and am going to make her someting!

8-26-21

Weaving workshop this weekend at the art museum. This is what I came up with!

8-21-21

Ecoprinting was a big success. We had 50 people at the workshop!

8-20-21

Getting ready for the workshop tomorrow, I made this shirt. I dyed the fabric with weak logwood and then hammered flowers and leaves onto it. Added some tumeric water.

8-19-21

I taught last night and the night before. Now, I'm getting ready for another workshop on Saturday, this one on ecoprinting. Here is a sample I did.

8-18-21

We had a lightning strike a few weeks ago and it blew out the fridge. Today a man came from LG to fix it, and he replaced the compressor with this one. It makes noise. It makes a high A note, constantly, and it's driving me CRAZY.

8-16-21

Today I took over my friend's Instagram and Facebook pages. Gonna try to build their business.

8-14-21

I taught a clay+science workshop today at the JCSM. Forty people attended. It was so hot, and I didn't drink enough, and got weak and dizzy. Gatorade saved the day.

8-12-21

Cotton boll from the garden...

8-11-21

More goodies from the kiln and a page from my Hebrew textbook. Yes, I can read all that.

8-10-21

I made another thing. This kiddush cup is for me.

8-9-21

This time I'm dyeing with logwood. Working on some fabric that will become something....

8-8-21

Some kats for Sta and Kel!

8-5-21

This is my shirt thus far...

8/2/21

If I don't get to see Baby J soon, I'm going to go crazy.

8/1/21

I never think I'm all that busy until I look at this blog. This is another thing I'm doing. I dyed the top layer with black beans and the bottom layer with avocados. Stitching it Alabama Chanin style...

7-31-21

I do like weaving, and tried a new technique today with lots of strands of thin yarn for the weft. Still trying to get a good placemat design.

7/30/21

My sister Sta is starting a business with Kel and this is their logo. I carved it in clay so I can make some mugs for them!

7-28-21

I did another thing. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought 5 yards of this blue fabric and recovered this old chair! It's a slip cover-type job, stapled at the bottom and behind the cushion. It is more comfy to sit in too. Now to keep the cats from tearing it up.

7-25-21

I'm growing cotton again! It's so pretty when it flowers, and I love seeing the bolls develop.
